Mother’s Day is an internationally observed day that celebrates mothers, motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers on society. It is a very wholesome occasion that is perfect for promotions and to show the mothers at your hotel some appreciation.

In this article, we will be going over a few ideas on how to celebrate Mothers Day at your hotel. Our aim is for the points here to act as a guide and inspire you to do something similar, but with your own twists that makes your hotel stand out.

That being said, let’s jump right into it.

1. Social Media Promotion

The first and least expensive tip (design costs notwithstanding) we have involves social media marketing. The ideal time to do this is a week or so before Mothers Day.

The idea here is to design some social media posts and publish them regularly, leading up to the day itself. These can include inspirational quotes about mothers/motherhood, promotions for special events (more on that later), photo contests with prizes offered, etc.

Once you have your post ideas lined up, your design team (or an outside team) can begin making them and your marketing team can post them when ready.

2. Decorating the Hotel

A change in decoration is one of the easiest ways to get the attention of your guests, current and potential. A day like Mothers Day is the perfect type of occasion to spice things up.

There doesn’t seem to be an “official color” or color scheme for Mothers Day, so feel free to pick colors that suit the occasion. Picking out napkins and tablecloths to reflect this choice is one way to do it. Another is to add colored lights at night.

There are many ways to spice up your hotel for Mothers Day. Try to talk to your design team and figure out what works for you.

3. Hosting an Event

One way to garner attention and capture eyes is to throw a special event to commemorate the day. Whether it is a special dinner, a dancing party, or a gala, mothers would appreciate the chance to leave their duties behind and enjoy a night all about them.

The biggest reason to invest in such an event is how much media buzz it would create. It also allows you to showcase your facilities and the quality of your customer service to a wider audience beyond the guests who stay at your hotel.

The bigger the event, the more you can promote it, and by extension, your hotel. However, since it is Mothers Day, perhaps ‘bigger’ should mean ‘inclusive of more mothers, guest or otherwise’ than simply ‘extravagant. Also, don’t forget to include a gift basket. People love gift baskets.

4. Appreciate Working Mothers

Many of your staff are mothers. This is a fact. They leave their children of all ages at home to come work hard for you. They give up precious time they could be spending with their own kids to ensure that your guests’ kids are looked after.

As such, Mothers Day is the perfect opportunity to show the working mothers in your staff some appreciation. This appreciation would be most appreciated in the form of an off-day, where they can be with their families. Another idea is to give them a small Mothers Day bonus or gift basket.

Whatever you choose to do, it would be in your best interest to show some appreciation to the mothers in your staff. After all, there is no hotel without dedicated staff.

Those were some of our ideas on how to celebrate Mothers Day at your hotel. We wish all mothers reading this a very happy Mothers Day and hope you had/will have a great one!
